We are seeking two compassionate and dependable Spanish/English Bilingual Medical Assistants to join our pediatric care team. In this role, you will support providers in delivering direct patient care to children and serve as a vital communication bridge for families who speak languages other than English. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of uninsured children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference, as age-appropriate.

• Document patient history, primary complaints, and current medications in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Assist providers during examinations and pediatric procedures.

• Independently review records and administer vaccinations according to AAP vaccine schedule.

• Administer medications as directed by supervising provider.

• Perform point-of-care testing, collect specimens, and complete basic laboratory tasks.

• Provide accurate verbal interpretation and support communication between families and clinical staff.

• Prepare and stock exam rooms and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

• Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals; assist families in navigating community resources.

• Adhere to infection control, safety, HIPAA, and clinic policies at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) required. Must be able to speak, read, and interpret fluently for patients and families.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work compassionately with children and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using an EHR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) — strongly preferred.

• Prior experience in a pediatric, community health, or free/nonprofit clinic setting.

• Familiarity with immunization schedules and pediatric workflows.

• Experience connecting families with social services and community resources.
