About
Brenda Sanchez Ortiz, MBA, PMP, is a strategic and mission-driven executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across nonprofit, healthcare, and education sectors. She brings a diverse background spanning nonprofit leadership and for-profit business strategy, with a proven record of advancing organizational growth through fund development, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence. As Co-Founder of Community Harvest, a local nonprofit focused on addressing disparate health outcomes, Brenda drives initiatives that expand health access and promote equity for underserved communities.

Previously, Brenda served as Senior Director of Customer Development at the Better Business Bureau, where she led major process improvements, implemented performance dashboards, and worked to enhance community impact. Her earlier roles include Chief Executive Officer of Karisha Public Benefit Corporation, Executive Director of Austin Health Commons, and Director of Performance Improvement at Southwest Key Programs, where she built data-driven frameworks for quality improvement and compliance. Brenda began her career at TMF Health Quality Institute, where she directed multi-state quality improvement programs funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, leading health initiatives that reached over 30,000 patients and 5,000 educators.

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Brenda holds an MBA from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, a certificate in Health Information Management from Texas State University, and a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is recognized for her collaborative leadership style, commitment to equity, and passion for building partnerships that drive lasting community change.

Brenda has been in the Austin/Central Texas area for over three decades. Austin is where she met her husband, raised two children, and it is a beloved community where she wants to make an impact.
